Is it true that Rabbi Zuker donated a kidney to a friend’s husband?
Yes! In 2018 David Uzan, a father of four young children, began searching for a suitable living organ donor. Without a kidney transplant, Uzan, who was suffering with something called Berger’s disease, faced a lifetime of dialysis treatments. Rabbi Zuker had become friends with Uzan’s wife through their children, who have special needs. Rabbi Zuker was found to be a direct kidney donor match for Uzan and agreed to be the donor. She felt it was a tremendous blessing to be a part of something so miraculous.
